This Privacy Policy applies to the Valeur app and any related services we operate. Whether you’re searching for deep relationship compatibility or building your psychometric profile, this Policy has got you covered. For simplicity, we refer to all of these as our “service” in this Privacy Policy.

3. Data We Collect

We can’t help you develop meaningful, psychologically compatible connections without you providing some information about yourself.

Data you give us:

  • Account Data: When you create an account, you provide basic information to set it up, including your name and date of birth.
  • Profile Data: When you complete your profile, you share additional details such as your photos, educational background, occupation, interests, and self-identified personality flaws.
  • Sensitive Data: To facilitate accurate matching, you provide data regarding your sexual orientation. By providing this information, you explicitly consent to us using it as laid out in this Privacy Policy.
  • Psychometric Data: We collect your detailed responses to our psychological tests to build your unique psychometric profile and determine deep compatibility metrics with other users.

Other data we collect:

  • Geolocation Data: We collect your general location data to connect you with potential matches in your area.
  • Usage Data: Using the service generates data about your activity, which we currently analyze internally directly from our database to improve your experience.

4. Why and How We Use Your Data

The main reason we process your data is to provide our service to you and improve it over time.

  • To enable you to use our service: Creating your profile, processing your psychometric test results, and powering our compatibility matching algorithm.
  • To improve our service: We securely store your data within our MongoDB Cloud Atlas infrastructure and use internal analytics to analyze user behavior, refine our matchmaking models, and enhance the overall user experience.
  • To keep you safe and comply with the law: We process data to ensure compliance with global data protection regulations and local frameworks, including the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK).

5. How We Share Data

Since our goal is to help you make meaningful connections, some of your information is visible to other members on the service (like your public profile).

We do not sell your personal data. We only share data under the following circumstances:

  • Service Providers: We may use third parties to help operate and improve our services (for example, we may integrate analytics providers like Mixpanel in the future). These providers are bound by strict data processing and confidentiality agreements.
  • Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information if legally required to do so to comply with law enforcement, court orders, or to protect the safety and rights of our users.

  • Right to Erasure: You can permanently delete your account directly inside the app settings. When you delete your account, your personal data, psychometric profile, and compatibility metrics are completely removed along with you.

7. How Long We Retain Your Data

We keep your personal information only as long as you need the service and as permitted by applicable law. Because your data is tied directly to your account, we retain your profile, psychometric responses, and match history until you decide to delete your account.

8. Privacy Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as Valeur grows. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy within the app and updating the "Effective Date" at the top so you always know what's going on.
